This tulip bag is a design adapted from traditional Native American purses that some women wore. The original design is much longer and was primarily used to store special things. The bag in the picture is about three inches long. It is made of very fine suede (leather), and edged with glass beads. The strap is satin rattail cording, and just tied in the back wtih large beads to act as a counter weight. The bag opens to look like a tulip flower. I chose colors to evoke the feelings of a crisp moonlight night in the Minnesota North Woods. The almost iridescent leaves in the trees, rippling of the arora borealis in the black sky, and the silvery stars.
This piece can be ordered in nearly any color and edged with colors and tones of beads you like. If I use lower cost beads--the bag is $35.00. If you have one made with delicas expect $45.00. Should the delicas include 22k gold or 22k white gold beads--that will be $60.00. Extra cost above those listed for special beads on the cording. Cost for shipping and insurance on any bag is $8.00 through the United States Postal Service. Email me at Black Feather for more info on purchasing one of these bags. Please allow 3-5 weeks for completion depending on my work schedule.
